That Shade of Confidence Looks Good On You

Confidence is a strength and a certainty one has about herself that is present regardless of her title, stature, background, or past or present circumstances.  Confidence is an air about a person that makes everyone want to be around her because she is not haughty, she is not arrogant, and she may not be the thinnest or the most beautiful in the room; but ...

... because she is the one who knows her worth, who knows the worth of others and uplifts them, and she knows everything about her and that for which she stands matters, her confidence is undeniable.

Professional women can build their confidence by consistently, looking and sounding unstoppable.  This means adopting the practice of always having your shoulders back, your head up, and your eyes laser-focused, especially when you speak.  Every single time  - no matter where you are and no matter to whom you speak.  

Eliminate the “uh’s” and “um’s” otherwise known as filler words; because they make you sound and feel less confident.

Make statements that sound affirmative, not flimsy, which means intentionally using power words in your language.  For example, say, “I know,” or “I trust,” not “I think” or “I hope.”  

Eliminate uptalk or high-rising terminals so every sentence you say does not sound like a question but sounds like a definitive statement dripping with authority and conviction.  

Even when you do not feel on top of the world, never give that impression.  Always ask yourself “How do I want to feel, and for what do I want to be remembered?”  The options are common and unexceptional or confident and unshakable.
